Cowboy Hat Decorating Hen Party

This really depends on the size of your group. We are based in York so central in the country. This means we cover North Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorks, Humberside, West Yorks, and South Yorks BUT if you have a large group, say 20-plus we CAN travel further out to you. Or we can also come to you outside our normal area for a smaller group if you are willing to cover an 'at cost' travel charge. We have ran Wild Harvest activities all around the country.

We would suggest between six guests and 30 guests. There is no limit upward for us really - we would simply bring more craft tutors! For groups of less than six it's not really viable for us to pack up and travel however do still enquire if there are four or five guests as we can possibly accommodate you here in York at our own craft workshop.

We use natural coloured straw type cowboy hats as we feel these are most suitable for a blank canvas for decoration and because we are a Natural Vibe kind of hen party provider. Yes we HAVE seen the bright pink ones, and no sorry we don't offer those.

We fill the table with a selection of trims such as hessian, vintage green velvet ribbon, and sparkly tape for the base band of your cowboy hat. Then after securing the bank, you create a posy from a choice of real natural coloured feathers (think pheasant, guinea fowl, peacock), plus real dried flowers, grasses or grains. After this you can attached the finishing flourish of three to five satin fabric flowers. Every guests makes the same hat yet they all look very different due to the choices made at each of the three steps above.

This depends on Group Size really, as our tutors are available to lend a helping hand so obviously the more of you their are to help the longer the session will take. We have a definite average of one and a half hours though, so if you are planning on booking; allow a time-slot of ninety minutes for the workshop.

We charge per person and the cost for 2026/2027 is £36 per guest. This includes all the hats, materials, tool use and tutor time. Tutor time involves setting up and tidying away, it's your party so you shouldn't have to tidy!

We recommend a large table or collection of smaller tables and chairs so this could be the kitchen or dining room of a rented accommodation, a back room in a pub, an upstairs in a cafe, or picnic benches in the woods.
Each guest would need about 18 inches x 18 inches (45x45 cm) square of table space.
If you have no table space and are comfy sitting on the ground, we have been known to teach on rugs and blankets with scatter cushions - eg. in a local park. We DO NOT need electricity for this session.
